The piece "Jetzeit" was recorded live and in one take on 1/1/2019, in my studio in Saint Louis, MO USA.

The piece involves some ideas I have been working on-- one of these being to slice up beat samples into very short loops, and to record these in a live context. I enjoy laying down a sliced beat loop, and steadily bringing in other loops, to see how they sound together.

If a person listens to tribal drums, they are not mechanically "in sync", but rather are played in a loose tandem. I wanted my looped percussion to sound this way, too-- I think that method conveys more organic energy.

Now that I have retired my main musical acts, including mystified, I am devoting much of my time to practicing live music as Thomas Park.
