For the Blast compilation, here you find a piece that we made together, called “Die Mühle (The Mill/Le Moulin etc.). Watermill recordings were made at the Nespener Mühle, Germany (recorded by Frank Vincentz, Wikimedia Commons, Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported). The melody is based on a German Folk Song “Es klappert die Mühle am rauschenden Bach”, written down by Ernst Anschütz. The text is an old children’s rhyme which was also incorporated into the poem “Ozersk” by Manfred Peter Hein:
Ich zähle bis zehn- Die Mühle bleibt stehen
Ich zähle bis hundert- Die Mühle geht unter
Ich zähle bis tausend - Die Mühle geht sausend
